If you are a garlic lover this is the perfect place for you. This place has lots of choices. It has currie and salads, gyros, great appetizers, martinis, and my fav, the sea bass. You can get light garlic if you order certain dishes. My 'go to' for light garlic is the panini. If you don't like as much garlic go to the Oval Office. The Oval Office has many choices and is owned by Raci which also owns White House. As an added bonus the White House has belly dancing on Thursdays at 7 p.m!

A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I ordered a couple meals to-go. We ended up at home disappointed as one of our dishes had a long hair mixed in. We obviously were so grossed out that we didn't finish the meals nor will we be returning. We were both bummed as the food was good and we were both very hungry.
(2)Shane M.
Garlic city! I loved every single thing about eating here. It's a nice place, but very affordable. Outside dining. Real nice bar. Our service was perfect. The food was great. Gyro plate with fries and pasta salad less than nine bucks and it was perfection. I hade a huge Greek salad for maybe 12.00. This place was terrific.
(5)Lee O.
This is one of our favorites. My wife and I were arguing over ingredients in their fried potato appetizer. Delish! Service is prompt and wait staff is knowledgeable. The potato garlic soup is fantabulous with a hint of curry. Reasonable prices. A great place to celebrate our anniversary.
(5)Jimmy C.
This is by far some of the best cuisine I have had. You will not be disappointed. Every thing is great. The seabass is to die for. Best rice I have ever had. The spinach ravioli's with curry chicken is out of this world also. The gyro is great also. I have never had anything bad. I highly recommend the White House. The tiramisu and baklava keep you wanting more.
(5)Chris D.
Great food! They use a lot of garlic here and it was so good. I started off with the Turkish cigars then had the souvlaki and it was very flavorful and tender. Just a wonderful blend of seasoning in every bite. The waitresses were very nice and attentive. Just a great experience, I can't believe that I've never been here before. I will definitely be back though.
(5)René F.
Here in Post Falls to see my daughter and son in law... They took me to dinner here at the White House Grill. The place was packed but (without reservations) we lucked out and the wait wasn't long at all... I had the lamb gyros with garlic pasta salad. Delicious! I grew up on a lot of garlic, so I was right at home! Great food and super friendly service.
(5)Frank S.
I am always torn when it comes to giving a place a less than stellar review. But, we went to eat here based on the many 4 and 5 star reviews and they are simply not justified in my opinion. Dining options in this area must be rather limited for people to rave about this restaurant. The service was great. Friendly and fast. The atmosphere of the place is uninspiring (it would benefit from some TLC). I don't mind Turkish music but not at deafening volume. As for the food, it just wasn't that good. Yes, I like garlic but too much of a good thing is just too much. We had four different dishes and they all had way too much garlic and a ton of salt on them.
(3)Miguel B.
I just got done eating the mixed plate and it was delicious! The whole staff is friendly and our waiter was awesome. Answered all our questions and gave us the information we asked about. I'll post pictures soon.
(5)A T.
My husband and I loved the gyros, green beans and the samra (lamb patties). You need to love garlic to love this place, so good thing we do. Everything had great flavor and was very fresh. Great service at lunch too. Would definitely recommend this place and will try to stop every time I come through Post Falls on my way to Spokane.
(4)Amy F.
This place is spectacular. Great service, great food. I live on the west side of Washington and will plan a trip near the White House Grill again soon. You can't go wrong. Worth any wait as well.
(5)Madeline S.
What a great experience! I had the souvlaki and fried feta and they were both amazing. The meat was tender and very flavorful. The fried feta might be the best thing I've ever tasted:) you have to order it! Our service was amazing. Our waitress forgot to add our main courses to our order and when she realized this mistake she comped drinks and dessert! There is bellying dancing on Thursdays and this also happened to be the night we came in! Go try it if you haven't already!
(5)M C.
Fun atmosphere. Great food (don't go if you don't like garlic!) The staff was great and chef rounded to check in on customers. On another visit on a busy night he actually took our order himself! Can't go wrong
(5)P G.
For the love of GARLIC this place is good!!! Great shepherd's salad...I want to eat that salad every day! Owner and staff do it right here. They really care and pride shows in the food! Keep it up!
(4)Ben J.
Amazing food, horrible staff/customer service. We walked in and waited patiently for I table, I understand that they don't have to drop everything and take care of us. But nobody even acknowledged us and when the next people walked in behind us they were almost immediately given a table, the girl in that party at least asked if we were first and looked like she felt bad. However the rest of her party fit in nicely with the inconsiderate staff.
(2)Heidi B.
Amazing! The curried chicken ravioli was everything I wanted, everyone left happy...but was so good we had to get deserts to go, tiramisu was the best I've ever had! Customer service was very good as well. Wish I lived closer so I could eat here all the time!
(5)Shaun F.
Get your garlic fix here! Great food here! Had the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. Its very cheesy and creamy. It should fill you up nicely. Ordered the deep fried cheese. Whoa!
(5)Duane J.
Awesome mixed grill. Garlic, garlic, garlic!!!! Busy with ambience. We love this place!
(5)Sarawr O.
If you love garlic, you'll love the White House! I worked there ten years ago. Don't get the Fettucine Alfredo, you've had better. The best bet for your buck is a traditional gyro with their perfect seasoned fries, and a side of tzaziki (tzuh-zee-kee) to dip them in. Best appetizers: deep-fried Feta and the Turkish cigars.
(4)Rebecca A.
Amazing. Garlic on garlic on garlic! Expect to stink for a few days after but it is SO worth it! Heck buy and "I Stink" t-shirt and you won't need to explain! I highly recommend the buftec. A gorgeous steak smothered in garlic cloves, a side of zesty potatoes and veggies. It's amazing. I also recommend the rice pudding.. also lovely. The owner is cooking in the kitchen, which is always nice to see the local small business owner hard at work and he LOVES what he does too. The staff is amazing and of course the food as well. I had never been a fan of Mediterranean/Greek style food before but since I have been going here for years I am definitely hooked. The food is also consistent for both lunch and dinner services! The atmosphere is gorgeous, romantic, classy but don't be afraid to dress down... or up for that matter! Traditional Mediterranean music is playing in the background, you may even hear the staff singibg along with it! They have a lovely bar as well so if you want some drinks ans appitizers, they can sefibitely fix you up just right! The menu itself has a great variety to offer! Kids welcome! Raci has another restaurant called The Oval Office just a block away. Look it up! I have a review for that as well. Another gorgeous restaurant!
(5)Nathan M.
Eaten here many times and never had a negative experience...love GARLIC! The Shepherd salad is my favorite combined with potatoes!
(5)John S.
Amazing food especially for the price! Great service and I can't think of a better place for authentic Mediterranean food in the area. Great place to take a date!
(5)Jackson L.
One of the best things that has ever happened to Post Falls Idaho.. The White House restaurant Don't let the sweet succulent smell of garlic distract you or discourage you!, Because you are in store for a delicious flavorful meal. Sacia was our server beautiful young lady with the personality to match.. Some must-have! Cacik appetizer or the curry potato soup. Lamb kebabs were tender delicious. Karisak Gyro sandwich flavor profile was Oldu. They have two types of Baklava the traditional, and experimenting with Apple Baklava both delicious both a must try. Sacia biz geri olacak, tesekkur ederim..
(5)Brian S.
Great restraint. Ok wine selection/ rather limited than what I expected. Service is great. Went for Valentine's Day. Walked up and say at the bar with wife. They have the best Greek salads( as they should). Good lunch selection as well. Service was friendly timely, and great! This will become a regular staple of date nights out. So much garlic on everything they have huge vats of mouthwash in the bathrooms for you to use.
(4)Kris K.
One of my top 5 places in the Northwest. I try to stop in every time i'm out in the Idaho direction. Any Mediterranean/seafood/garlic lover has to give this place a shot. There is some serious love being put into this food... that being said, if I ever meet a chef from here... I may kidnap him and pull his teeth out one at a time until he divulges the recipe for the garlic green beans. My opinion? Nom the Seabass and Curry Chicken Special, garlic green beans and baklava for dessert!
(5)Bela B.
I mean...Garlic. What more do I need to talk about? :) Food was a 5, customer service 4 only bc it was a little slow but that may have been to how busy it was. Friendly service. Mouthwash in the b-room for that stank breath. I give it a 4.5!
(4)Leslie J.
You know, I really WANT to LOVE this place. But it's just too much garlic. WAY too much garlic. My husband agrees. I DO enjoy the deep fried Feta, though.
(2)Amy B.
The White House has the best food we've ever had! The service has always been spot on and it's one reason we always return! We come here often because it's so good! The turkish cigars are yummy and have a tomato/onion/feta cheese side that comes with it. We loved the Salmon Ala' Foreigner! It has to be one of my most favorite entrees' when we eat there! It's very good and I highly recommend it!
(5)Brian S.
One of our favorites! We stopped in on a Thursday to celebrate our daughter's induction into the National Junior Honor Society. Their bellydancer entertained us. The food was excellent as usual. We have been coming to the White House Grill since it first opened in the little White House that is now the Oval Office. Kathy N. is the best server in the place!
(5)Shaun E.
OK, I've actually been back here several times. This is one of those places that I didn't care much for the first time, but after finding the right menu items, I love it. I would give it 5 stars (I really do love this place now) if it were not for a couple of things: 1) The service is not really that great. It's ok. Not great. 2) I'm not in love with everything on the menu, but I have found some gems. Here is what I've had that I love: 1) The warm bread with garlic, balsamic & vinegar appetizer. It's so simple, but so good! 2) The potato soup! OMG. I don't even like curry, but this soup is amaze-balls! 3) The lamb burger. Classic, tasty. 4) The chicken burger. Ground chicken with whole chunks of cooked garlic yumminess inside... so good!
(4)Christian L.
Awesome experience. Greeted with smiles, great service, incredible food and big servings. I'll be back soon.
(5)Sue S.
Wow great service and incredible food. We ordered the sarma and a gyro. They really were very tasty. The portions were too big to finish. We probably could have split one entree.
(5)Andrew W.
Pretty nice place over all. The service was kind and the food was good. I had the curried chicken ravioli. It was pretty strong and very rich, but still delicious. The atmosphere is pretty loud. Nothing particular that I like about the place, but I would come here again if someone else was paying.
(4)Pamela G.
Oh my gosh. We found this place almost by accident after missing an exit for another restaurant. The food was wonderful and had a distinct touch of Turkish. Lots of garlic, all cooked to bring out the sweetness. We had the "cold plate" appetizer, it had 4 dolmas with fresh lemon, homemade hummus, chunks of feta cheese with paprika and Greek olives. I had the seared steak. Tender and delicious, sliced with roasted garlic. Cubed crispy potatoes in a lemon sauce with feta, and garlic green beans. Yum! My daughter had the Turkish Place with perfect lamb, garlic green beans, eggplant and rice. She declared it awesome. We finished with Turkish style rice pudding, thick and dusted with cinnamon as it should be. I've lived in Turkey and this place ranks with the best food I ate there.
(5)Jaime P.
On our way to Montana stopped here on our way... And we're totally surprised. Great potato soup with Homemade croutons had amazing flavor. On top of it the Greek plate was a nice option with fresh rice, decent gyro meat, and a nice thick tzatziki sauce. Great fuel up for the long road ahead.
(5)Matt B.
Unreal, one of the best places I've ever eaten. Spice explosions. Typically I don't care for this type of food. It's not all dried out like a lot of Mediterranean food. Very large menu as well. Call ahead, they get very busy.
(5)Rob S.
I love gyros but these were just mediocre. Pretty good pita and sauce but the meat was too thin. To me it needs to be shaved off of a rotisserie spit to be great and it sure didn't seem like it was. Over rated in my opinion.
(3)Eric W.
Very garlicky (that's not a complaint!). Every member of my family has a dish they LOVE there. I love the mixed grill. The sea bass is amazing.
(5)Amber M.
Soooo good! We were greeted and seated right away, even though it was a happening place. The aroma of garlic is everywhere, so you must love garlic to go here. The staff even where shirts that say "I stink" - lol. The Chilean Sea Bass dish was delicious as well as there tzakiki sauce with pita bread. And I was amazed at how affordable it was for so much food. We just each ordered something different and ate family style. Delish!
(5)Ben B.
Good value for money drinks where affordable 4.50 for essentially a rum and coke. Had the lamb cobob. I thought it came ground ground and formed but was actually fresh lamb. Had to dock them points for overcooking and not asking how I like it. My bad for not asking. Came out medium well which for me is over I think medium rare to medium is best. But overall good flavor. Came with rice and garlic. Green beens for 14.50 a steal.
(4)Calvin J.
My lamb kabobs were grilled and seasoned perfectly. I love garlic but they use a bit too much in this place. The garlic odor hits you the second you enter through the door and will linger in your clothes till the next washing. Balance out the garlic in the humus and green beans and this rating will jump from 4 to 5 stars.
(4)Jason S.
If you love garlic... it's tough not to love this place. Greek/Mediterranean cuisine served in a quaint atmosphere with patio seating during the warm months. My favorite place for Greek and one of my favorites places to eat in general in the area. Staff is typically very friendly and attentive and truly seem to enjoy what they do. The green beans and fried feta are great apps and sometimes I just add the bread with balsamic and olive oil (with garlic of course) and call it a meal. The sarma is my personal favorite but working my way around the menu, I really haven't found anything that I did not like... just things I like more than others. The tiramisu is different from the common italian version - it is more like a thick frosting/custard with lady fingers mixed in. Still good, just different, the first time I ordered it I thought I had received the wrong dish. The one item that I always order is the baklava... light, crispy and the perfect amount of natural sweetness... it's not a sharing item.
(5)Lance M.
Two words A..wait for it..... mazing!!!!!!! Service was amazing!! Food was amazing!! If you love garlic then come here. The garlic bread appetizer was to die for, melted in our mouth. Need I say more?
(5)Don B.
Love this place. Normally very good service, weekends this place is busy so make a reservation, and still expect a slight wait, we kill this time by grabbing a glass of wine from the bar. The food is worry it. We enjoy this place at least 4 times per year. Parking can be a problem :( so we often end up parking at the sister restaurant next door. Oval Office. Over all staff is very pleasant. The restaurant is charming, short drive from Spokane.
(5)James L.
I have gone back twice since my last review, and I am SO HAPPY to report that everything is CLEAN! The staff is still just as happy and proud as ever, and the food is totally delicious. I really can't think of anything bad to say now! It is a great family restaurant! Two big thumbs up for the management!
(5)Danielle C.
This is the place to eat! Always amazing. Spring bowl is to die for. Great beer selection.
(5)Jenna L.
This is my favorite restaurant, the food is absolutely unbelievable!! My family is from the Middle East and this restaurant is authentic and very delicious--- just like mama makes. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is great for a party or a romantic dinner for two. The sarmisak is to die for---be sure to give it a try. I love it with the baguettes. I still prefer my family recipe for babaganoush, but White House is a close second. If you have never tried Mediterranean or middle eastern food, you are in for a treat ;)
(5)Krysta O.
So delicious! Could seriously eat here weekly, just had Turkish cigars - to die for! Ordered seafood tortellini for entree. Yum!! Service is great too. Always a great experience
(5)Breanne W.
We had a party of over 60 & their service was timely & friendly. Their chefs really do love what they do. Great curried chicken ravioli
(5)Laur M.
Have been here a couple of times while visiting our son in Spokane, Wa. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the atmosphere is casual and service is great! Would go anytime while in the area!
(4)Tracy M.
We were told by a local hotel if we wanted something a bit different, and excellent food, try The White House. We did 6 years ago, and everytime we pass thru Idaho we stop in for some of the BEST Greek food. The cook singing and the belly dancing just add to the ambiance of the place. Go and give them a try. You will not regret it.
(5)Sarah B.
The Chilean sea bass is one of my favorites dishes anywhere. I have tried many times to recreate their garlic green beans with no luck. Great Turkish delight!
(5)david g.
Despite my own review, we returned as we were in the area. I was so happy to see the use of garlic go down by 50%. This transformed the food from bitter and acrid to delicious. My only nit pick is that they have a fantastic special of "risotto" with sea bass and asparagus. It is not a risotto, it's seafood and vegetables on rice. I've had it twice in a row now and while I love it, it has nothing in common with risotto other than there is a rice involved.
(4)Rodney W.
I have eaten at this restaurant dozens of times over the last 13 years and have never been disappointed! Great flavor in every dish, like a birthday party for your mouth. Rogee, he knows how to celebrate food!
(5)Christina K.
First off, the parking lot was gross and very trashy. The front of the place had dirt all over the outside bistro tables, and some kitchen equipment laying right outside the front door. The service was great. Our waiter was very inviting and quick. There was lipstick all over my wine glass. The white zin tasted old and stale, and so did my husbands Stella Artois. This was not our first visit, we have always liked the place but we had not been back for a few years, things have gone way downhill. I had the seafood pasta. It was very watery and way too much garlic, I used to get this dish every time I would come and this time it was HORRID. The sauce was so runny, and the two tiny squares of garlic bread tasted as if it was from the day before. Sadly we will not be going back.
(2)Nathan H.
This is my GOTO place when ever I am within 60 minutes of Post Falls. If you don't like garlic...don't come here. Seriously...the waitresses walk around wearing shirts with huge picture of a garlic clove and the saying "Stinky Chicks Ain't So Bad". The waiters wear shirts that say "I Stink....because I just ate at the White House Grill". They love their garlic, they are proud of their garlic, and I LOVE to eat their garlic. Megan, the bartender is awesome (tell her hi if you stop by after reading this). Quick with a drink or a food recommendation. Raci (sp?) the owner is serious about service. He posts his cell phone number everywhere, if you aren't happy, he wants to hear about it. His dedication shows in his staff, I have never been disappointed by the food or the service here. Seriously...even if you have to drive a ways to get here...get here, and make sure to bring your significant other so you can enjoy the garlic together!
(5)Keri M.
One word: YUM! This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. Just writing this review makes me crave their delicious fried feta appetizer! Warm toasted bread, sliced cucumber, and sliced tomato drizzled with balsamic vinegar, served with a massive chunk of feta that had been battered and fried to perfection. I have tried half of the menu and have yet to be served a meal worth less than 5 stars. Note: if you are picky about your water plan on ordering from their broad selection of martinis and cocktails. The water is served from a metal pitcher that leaves a metallic taste in the water.
(5)Veronica V.
Really fun environment with contagious, happy, and informative attitudes from the staff. Tasty food with lots of flavor explosion! You guessed it, garlic. If you go on a first date make sure you both eat off one another's plates to cancel potent breath for later kissing sessions. Hot tip: the bathrooms are stocked with Listerine. I had the lamb burger and it was seasoned perfectly with great texture. Prices vary so you can definitely make dinner reasonable as well. Cheerio!
(5)Susan L.
The Chicken Istanbul was flavorful yet light and delicious. The Lamb pasta was an epicurean delight. Both of these we would definitely come back for. Our third dish was the special for the day-with SeaBass, it was ok. The dishes are full of wonderful garlic , thankfully there is mouthwash in the restrooms.
(4)Debby S.
This has to be the best restaurant ever. Never had a bad meal ever and coming from me that's a lot. Love their deep fried Feta wish they would have stayed open on South Hill but they are worth the drive. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. If you haven't been your missing out.
(5)Hungry G.
First off, this place completely lived up to the hype it gets on Yelp--it's just that good. Yeah, it smells "garlicky," but just embrace it; you will not be sorry. This is Mediterranean food at its best. I started with an appetizer: the Turkish Cigars. It's spinach and feta rolled in a flakey filo shell. It comes with a relish made of tomatoes, onions and feta which is really the key to the whole dish--it's superb. The Greek salad was also really good. I was torn between two grilled lamb dishes. The very helpful and knowledgeable waitress recommended the Sultan's Platter if I liked things on the spicy side. I do, and I'm so glad I took her good advice. It was delicious grilled lamb with red, yellow, and green peppers, onions and potatoes, sautéd in a fantastic garlic and cumin sauce, and served over rice. It was unbelievably good. The lamb was perfectly cooked and the medley of vegetables really worked well together. The potatoes were a surprise (in a rice dish), but they somehow tied everything together. If I'm ever in northern Idaho again, I will definitely come back. I hope its soon, because there are more things I want to try, like the fried feta and the curried chicken ravioli. If you can only try one place in Post Falls, don't miss out on the White House Grill.
(5)Shane D.
First time here, came for a nice dinner for mother in law's birthday. Yelpers loved it so I had high hopes. And wow, were they right. My only real complaint was that at 7 when we got there, there were some appetizers they were out of already. This place has been open long enough they should be able to plan for volume, but oh well. I have little experience with Mediterranean food, but what I have had I have liked. And this place was better than anything I have ever had, period. Service was attentive and funny, and even though they were pretty busy we were checked on often and never wanted for water or wine, or really anything. Love the techno Med music they had going. So did one of the chefs, who was totally dancing as he cooked. I love when people love their work, especially when their work tastes so good. Cannot wait to return.
(4)Andrew H.
I've been wanting to try this place for quite some time. I like to get frozen pizzas (hang in there, we'll get to the point eventually) and give them some "help" by adding veggies, herbs, and spices. Well, I DOUSE my Tombstone in garlic. So much so that everyone in my cubical area goes bonkers at me when I heat up leftovers. I explained that they were probably smelling the garlic (they kept saying it smelled like Chinese food for some reason?). I then got some GLOWING recommendations for the White House. Hey kid, if you like garlic then yer gonna looooooooooOOOoove The White House. Fast forward to a couple days ago, I came into work early so I could get off in time to meet my friends at Sasquatch. Well, turns out I don't need to meet them until 1:30am, so I have plenty of time to kill. So what do I do? Make a run for the (gem state) border to procure some of their magically cheap gas & booze...also: finally check white house off of my "places to eat" list. I have to say, maybe I'm a freak, but it was not anywhere near as garlicy as I was expecting. This is probably because my garlic tolerances are higher than the average bear though. SooooOOOOo, how was the food? Well, it was pretty damn good. I got a lamb sandwich (it was the "special") with half fries and half pasta as the sides. All were above-average to be sure. The lamb was moist, juicy, and well spiced. Would I make a run to Post Falls specifically to eat here again? Maybe. Would I eat here a lot if it was in downtown Spokane? You bet your ass I would. Great turkish/greek food and surprisingly reasonable prices.
(4)Maria W.
This really was such a friendly place with beautiful food! I'm just not a fan of Indian food or Greek or whatever. Sorry.
(4)Kim H.
The food and the service are both amazing. My favorite dishes include the firinda sarmisak (sp?), gyros, greek salad, steak, lamb burger and chocolate raspberry martini. The first time we ever ate there, we were seated next to a large party that was celebrating a birthday and was a little loud. We didn't mind at all, we were there with our 4 kids who like to make a little noise themselves. Our server apologized for the noise AND gave us a gift certificate. Yes, you will probably smell like garlic for 24 hours after eating at White House Grill, but it will just be a reminder of the delicious meal you enjoyed :)
(5)Beth B.
For the love of garlic, I was not impressed. My family started with the the eggplant-hummus appetizer then orderd the Spring Bowl, Chicken Roma, Mixed Grill and, off the kid's menu, the chicken fettuccine and the spaghetti. 3 caesar salads, and one of each of the offered desserts - tiramisu, baklava, apple baklava and rice pudding were also ordered. We definitely had a good cross section of the menu. Meh. It was good. We ate everything. But it was just meh. This is not true mediterranean food. More like mediterranean themed with bunch of rice and a triple dose of garlic. The hummus and eggplant was good but not right. Extra galic, no olive oil, pinenuts, parsley. Flat. The caeser salads had so much garlic that you couldn't tell if there was any dressing on the salad at all. The entrees were good. I think the spaghetti off the kids menu was the best thing offered. The desserts were disappointing. Rice pudding bland, even for rice pudding. The tiramisu was more like chocolate mousse with a ladyfinger hidden inside. The apple baklava was good but tasted like canned apple filling. The baklava was dry and not as good as this momma makes, so said my family (love them!). The service was good, friendly and timely. The restaurant was busy. They lived up to their claims for a lot of garlic but garlic should be a supporting role, not the main event. We like garlic but we won't be back.
(2)John O.
I have to laugh at the reviewers crying about the use or over-use of garlic at The White House. You can smell the garlic from this establishment a block down the road, so how daft does one have to be to not know what they are getting themselves into when dining there? That said, The White House is my favorite dinner destination in North Idaho. I enjoy celebrating every special occasion I can there. I find myself inventing special occasions just to give myself an excuse to order some Souvlaki. The deep fried feta and the Turkish cigars are both excellent appetizers. The baklava is outstanding and not nearly as chewy as the baklava served at The Olympia. Huge beer and wine selection here. It doesn't get any better.
(5)Tammy B.
So delicious I can't explain it with words! Waited all week to get to come here. So worth it.
(5)Kelly J.
Wonderful staff, wonderful food, wonderful setting, and wonderful service! Such a fun place to go for a romantic night out or for a fun family night. The owner is always in great spirits and never fails to check in on his customers satisfaction throughout the meal. Great place!
(4)Brady T.
Upon arriving you can instantly taste the garlic before you sit down! If garlic isn't your thing, don't bother! Service was mediocre and it took 20 minutes for our hummus to come to the table! Mixed grill is probably the best choice in the menu and the sea bass was cooked perfectly! After dinner we helped ourselves to a little baklava and it was awesome! It wasn't too buttery or greasy, nice dry texture with a luscious inside that made the perfect combo! Well done!
(4)Athena T.
The gorgeous, pungent smell of lemons, onions and garlic that assaulted my nose even before I walked in to this restaurant was a big clue I was in for a wonderful Mediterranean repast. Walking into the bathroom and seeing a huge jug of complimentary mouthwash was another broad hint of good things to come. Other signs I was in the right place: raucous Greek music was blasting from the open kitchen where I paused to enjoy the spectacle of chefs furiously flipping flaming food about in large, well-worn saucepans. Excitedly, I made my way to the spacious outdoor patio and waited hungrily for service. My dining companion and I were so excited by some of the appetizers we decided to make a meal of them, knowing if they were good, we could always come back for full meals another time. We ordered the Deep-Fried Feta with marinated cucumber & tomato salad, served with crispy buttered baguette slices ($6) the Lamb Sliders ($6) and the Patates Kizartmasi, cubes of fried potatoes smothered in a garlicky, herbed olive oil with chili flakes & a zesty lemon vinaigrette ($5). Uh, we will absolutely be coming back for meals another time since the appetizers were truly INCREDIBLE. The ground lamb patties were tender, moist and highly flavorful, six generous sliders served atop a bed of marinated slivered red onions and tomatoes. The potatoes were also outstanding - large cubes of starchy goodness cooked to perfection, crunchy on the outside, soft and steamy on the inside, and the portion was HUGE, the plate was absolutely piled high with a massive mound of them. The garlicky, lemony dressing was so delicious I actually ran my finger on the plate to taste it by itself to try to discern each of the ingredients. I can tell you that the olive oil they use here is deep and rich and full of vibrant, earthy flavor. And the fried feta... oh oh oh. Words failed me as I cut into that large, thick, delicately browned packet of goodness and watched, fascinated, as the warm, soft, salty feta oozed out gloriously. It. Was. Incredible. What was even more fun than tasting all the apps separately was trying them all together; they all complimented each other so well I had a great time building little bites of tender ground lamb, garlicky potato, vinegary cucumber, tomato and of course that melted feta atop crispy slices of buttery baguette. It was a lunch to remember for sure! So if you love garlic and well-made Mediterranean food, I certainly can heartily recommend you stop by the White House Grill. If the apps are this great, surely their main meals must be even better. I can't wait to stop by again and find out!

This is probably my favorite restaurant I have ever been to. The atmosphere, food, and service are always perfect.
(5)Savannah Veronica J.
We had great customer service, they were accommodating to everyone in our party including small children. The food was good and extremely garlicy even for someone who LOVES garlic. It does make you stink as the logo says. I will be back though! Loved the experience, but very pricy. ($100 for four people)

Starting this review with OVERRATED!! The place is popular, but on two visits, I am 0-2. While many of us enjoy garlic this place goes way over the top. You can not even taste the food its so powerful. The place reeks of it so it goes without saying that one must love to smell, drink, lick and suck down garlic like water, and enjoy the aftermath that will surely follow you to the restroom and beyond! :) If you die for garlic , you will most certainly disagree with my review and opinion. Started with Hummus and Eggplant spread. Served with Pita bread, it was not good overall. The eggplant was pretty good, the hummus stunk. We all enjoyed a dish that was a slightly fried combo of spinach and feta. We shared one cup of onion soup and it was just fine. Ordered two of the specials of the evening. It was not good at all. D-. Overcooked, over supply of garlic and the sides were not tasty. We did have one person get the Gyro Sandwich and it was not as good as the Greek place in Coeur d Alene in their opinion. Almost forgot ... I did enjoy the Greek Salad. I did have the lamb on one occasion and it was not bad, but just way too much garlic on it. Drowning out the flavor of the lamb. I would strongly suggest telling them to go easy on the garlic as a few on here have suggested and I believe that those ,who might be like us, would enjoy the taste of the food much better. Wine selection is nice. This place has good service, prices that are fair, and a nice atmosphere . The food just wasn't our families cup of garlic(oops tea).

I have to say... Spokane/Coeur d'Alene completely blew me away food wise and White House Grill was the highlight. We started with the beer battered feta completely for curiosity sake. I really was having a hard time wrapping my brain around the idea but holy crap it worked, it worked in the best possible way. Fantastic. The boyfriend had the Rosalina and it was quite tasty, a little heavy on the rosemary but the shrimp was prepared perfectly. I had the Turkish Plate and it was outstanding. The lamb was perfect, the garlicky green beans wonderful... everything about the dish worked, it was brilliant. The only item that didn't blow us away was the baklava... a little too dry and boring, but not bad, just not as good as we've had elsewhere. We made a reservation and still had a little bit of a wait but not big deal... this place was packed. Service was good and friendly! We'd go back for sure.

Delicious food! Took a little while to get our order but after that it was smooth sailing.

I will say only come here if you enjoy garlic overly infused into everything. The Turkish Cigars are not garlicky, and they are actually pretty good. The hummus has so much garlic in it that it kills the true taste of the hummus. I do not recommend the hummus. The pita bread tastes alright. They have a Turkish Beer called Marathon, and I would recommend this to neutralize the taste of the garlic. The French Onion Soup is good but tell them to go light on the cheese. The Chicken Athens was very delicious and the fries were crispy. On any sandwich dish you can ask for half fries and half pasta, or you can get a soup instead. The Chicken Athens was not too garlicky either, but I had told the waiter to go easy on the garlic. I was able to taste the tenderness of the chicken, tomatoes, and onions. The onions and tomatoes we grilled perfectly. I give this place 3.5 stars for the main food dishes, and I give 2 stars to the appetizers. Thanks, Robert Altmiller

*********** UPDATE: I decided to try this place once again, during off-time before the lunch rush and was amazed by the food! My better half likes to order the flat iron steak, which is covered in sauteed garlic with outstanding flavor but a lil pricey for Idaho's standards. I stick with the GYRO which is divine. I love the taziki sauce, and freshness of the food. Service is much improved when not dining during the rushed times-its worth it! I refuse to go on fri/sat nights :) *********** Like waiting long time for a table, despite having reservations? If so, try this joint on a busy night during the weekend. Otherwise, try going during lunch time-much faster and better service. I'm from the school were a reservation means something, this place doesnt agree :( Food is great, gyro's are outstanding & cheap!

The White House Grill is fantastic. I always have a tough time deciding what I'm going to order because frankly, none of it sounds that good to me when just reading the menu. Every time...I've been blown away at how outstanding the meal is! The staff is always so friendly. Almost every time I've been, the Chef comes out to ask how our meal was (someone told me it's the owner - either way...I think it's so impressive for the owner or Chef to take the time to come out and greet guests). Garlic is a key ingredient at the White House Grill. We will continue to go out of our way to go to the White House Grill.

Disappointing lunch at the White House Grill. I really want to like this place but I'm having a hard time. To begin with garlic is a a wonderful seasoning and I love it. On the other hand it can, if overused, cover up the flavor of the dish in which it's used. Unfortunately this happens more than not at the White House Grill. Had a cup of onion soup, and a glass of great Malbec wine. I should have stopped there. I ordered the Scampi special. It was horrible. Badly prepared and badly served. Tough small, overcooked shrimp in a greasy overly garlicky thin sauce served in a small bowl. The accompaniments were an over-sized wad of over cooked white rice, a small slice of lemon and two anemic looking pieces of what passes for garlic bread at The White House Grill. The presentation was not attractive. It reminded me of a plate of mashed potatoes, cauliflower an white rice - no color - not even a sprig of parsley! Prior to the special I ordered eggplant (babaganosh), hummus, tzatziki and some warm pita bread. Very small portions of all three. Good tzatziki and babaganosh, so so hummus. Chef Raci, the owner, needs to get control of the kitchen and re-invent the tired, old garlicky menu. I have had the lamb and eggplant on other occasions. Once I scraped off the excess garlic, the lamb was delicious. Garlic is a seasoning. Like every other seasoning, when overused it covers the flavor of the food. When used properly, it enhances the flavor. My advice: avoid the Shrimp Scampi and insist that they go easy on the garlic. It seems to have become a cheap gimmick at The White House Grill. Have the onion soup and a nice glass of Malbec. Grade: C- to D+

OMG...we were impressed. After reading the reviews, we decided to come here for lunch. We all three had sandwiches (2 gyros and a chicken concoction) that were delicious. Love that they offer a choice for sides. Friendly staff.

This is a fun little gem of a restaurant, very popular locally, out where you wouldn't expect a lively Mediterranean restaurant, in the suburbs of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. The White House Grill is located in Post Falls, Idaho, just outside Coeur D'Alene. Post Falls is not called that because you were driving further inland from Spokane Falls, you would be past those Falls, ergo "Post Falls" as opposed to "Pre Falls" in Ritzville, WA. After all, Spokane is just 35 miles west of here. No, rather It is named Post Falls after Frederick Post, who helped to establish this town with a Saw Mill back in 1871. The White House is a Mediterranean restaurant, which is to say it has Greek, Italian, Turkish and other greater Asia Minor regionally inspired dishes. The atmosphere is fun but dark, the service is very friendly and almost chummy, and the food is good and reasonably priced. It is a very casual, nearly festive restaurant, like the county fair or a birthday party. We came on a Thursday, which is Belly Dancing night, so adding to the friendly atmosphere is a belly dancer shaking her noise and money maker, and encouraging guests to join her for a quick jiggle. I jumped in and got jiggy with it, showing hip my moves like only a Persian look-alike could, offering a dollar tip in her chastity, er I mean her waistband. They have a range of Gyro sandwiches, but also Panini and Pita types, all well under $10. Appetizers include the likes of Turkish Cigars (like Spanikopita, but different shape), Hummus, Eggplant, Tsatsiki (yogurt sauce) and deep fried Feta. There is a large list of salads, including Greek, Caesar, Spinach, Tabouleh Wraps, but oddly no Domalthes. Entreees included dishes like Kebobs (Shish $13, Bahce Kofte $12, Tiger Prawn $16); Chicken dishes (Mediterranean $12, Rome $13, Fettucini $12) and of course, lamb, as in Kuzu Makarna ($14). (That last one sounds like the song the Meer Cat and Warthog sing in "The Lion King"!) They also have specials like Rissotto, Scampi, Karides, and Mixed Grill ($19) with Sea Bass, Prawns and Chicken Be forewarned, most dishes are heavily laced with garlic, onions, or both, so make sure you aren't going speed dating afterwards, or meeting your S.O.'s parents, because it may take 36 hours and several teeth brushings to clear your breath and get those out of your system. Garlic is good for your health, and I love it, but you will get more than usual here. The food is good and the place is fun and the prices are reasonable, but the dishes are a bit Americanized and not highly polished like you might find in a bigger city. But then again, this is Post Falls, not Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre-Pre Falls, as in Seattle.

Love this place! It's busy, loud and smells (wonderfully) of garlic. The feta app' is to die for. Go, you'll not be disappointed!
(4)J. C.
The smell of garlic fills the air and your mouth starts to drool because you know that is the smell of good food! Yes super garlicy but well worth it. The price is moderate but the quantity is amazing! Their lamb was juicy and I had some pasta thing with artichokes and I almost died it tasted so good!! Definitely stop by here for an experience!
(4)Ion J.
The restaurant lost my reservation, but promptly corrected the matter. The food was plentiful, it tasted great and the price was right.
(4)Sarah G.
My favorite restaurant in the Inland Northwest. Great place to come on dates. Loud, Greek music on the weekend, dimly lit with candles but boisterous atmosphere with cooks yelling out the food in a cheerful manner. The Greek Cigars (feta wrapped in phyllo dough, rolled and lightly fried, topped with spicy tomato mixture) is not to be missed. I got the spring bowl, an amazing combination of chick peas, chicken, feta, all the Greek spices, rice, and vegetables...an amazing combination (it was on special). Lots of pasta dishes too, in case you are wanting something a little different than the usual Greek menu. The waiters are all very attractive and outgoing. It is a lot of fun to visit! I went with my parents during the daytime after graduation and it was just not the same. It is made for dates and romantic/fun nights! love this place.

The first time my wife and I went here for dinner was on a Thursday night. According to the sign on the door, Thursdays at 7 p.m. they have live belly dancing. I thought, "Great! Dinner and a show". And I was right. The atmosphere is kind of dark, but I liked that. The smell of garlic is almost overwhelmingly awesome! Some of the wait staff even wear t-shirts that say "I Stink" on the front, and "because I just ate at the White House" on the back. Service was quick, friendly and they just kept coming. We started off with the beer-battered deep-fried feta cheese appetizer. At first I was skeptical of the idea, but it turned out to be great! Hot, chunky feta cheese on crusty bread. I almost ordered another. For dinner I had a chicken dish, sorry but I can't remember the name. I was served topped with sun-dried tomatoes and artichoke hearts. On the side were some green beans and rice. I'm normally not much of a chicken fan, but I'm trying to eat healthier these days. But I couldn't have enjoyed my dinner anymore! The garlic green beans were heavenly. This is THE SINGLE MOST GARLIC FLAVORED dish I have ever had, and it was divine. I'm trying to recreate it at home, but I can't come anywhere near the wonderful taste of the restaurant. My wife had a Panini sandwich, which she also enjoyed. We both had a desert (to go), as well as a couple of drinks. And with a generous tip, dinner was still under $70. We'll definitely be back!

It's okay, I don't understand what all the hype is. All I know is that the onion soup is great and the gyros are okay.
(2)D. A.
I love garlic! Therefore, I have really enjoyed the food at the Whitehouse. Everything I have tried here is so good! My only complaint is the service. Both times I have been, I have not been super impressed. But the food makes up for it. I will definitely be going back.
(4)C T.
The service here was great - VERY friendly. I ordered the cold plate - and was surprised to see a HUGE plate of food! The pita was fresh, the hummus super garlicky, and very large portion of feta. The stuffed grape leaves were delicious and there was a nice portion of olives as well. All of this for just over $5! I also got a greek salad which was crisp and extremely well portioned for $4. By this time, I was too stuffed for anything else from the menu... except the baklava. An amazing meal for less than $15 - including the tax and big tip. Well done, White House Grill!

I absolutely hate ID, but every time I'm here I have to stop at The White House. I have not found a single Mediterranean restaurant that matches this one on all fronts. This establishment is awesome for families (despite the full bar that you encounter when walking in), the food is fresh and authentic, the wine list is well done and clearly thought through, the atmosphere is that of casual elegance but in NO way stuffy, they offer a great deal of veterinarian options, and the owner is almost always on the premises walking around and personally checking on customers to be sure that they are happy (as well as occasionally bringing out a Greek drum to play for any kiddos that may be near by :) ). I have never left here Not feeling like I went unsatisfied. Oh and did I mention that everything is VERY inexpensive and the portions guarantee that you will be needing a doggy-bag? If you are in the area (and as miserable as I usually am for being drug to ID) and hungry for something, but you're not sure what, stop here and gobble up some yummy Mediterranean fusion cuisine (maybe even some french onion soup?) and forget that you're in ID for just a few minutes.
(4)JARED T.
I'm really impressed with this place. Of all the reasons to love it, I think just the taste of the food is what brings me back, well and the wine too, I've never eaten here without ordering wine, and I probably never will. It just wraps everything together really well. This place is focused on Mediterranean cuisine, and to me it tastes fantastic. However, I brought a friend who grew up in Greece to this place, and she didn't seem too impressed. I've never been to Greece, and I'm not claiming this place is authentic, but it tastes pretty damn good to me, and in my opinion that's ALL that matters.
(5)David C.
My girlfriend treated me to the White House Grill on the way to the Spokane airport and it was a great place for a filling meal before a flight. If you love garlic you will be sucked into this place like a magnet as you can smell it driving by. We had the pomegranate martini, garlic spread with pita and the supreme gyro. The gyro was better than average and it came with fries and garlic pasta. We like the garlic spread and of course the martini was good. Thankfully they have mouth rinse in the bathroom to help with the intense garlic breath!
(5)Adam N.
Simply the best. I love their food. You need to try the beer-battered deep-fried feta appetizer! It's pretty amazing. This place told me they go through about 100 pounds of garlic a week. If I lived closer to here I would probably die an early death just from eating their food too often. P.S. Try a vegetarian version of the "Spring Bowl." It's worth it.
(5)Katy D.
You can smell the garlic from the highway, which pretty much sums up The White House. You've gotta love garlic - really love it, and lots of it - to enjoy the food here, but if you do, it's heavenly. It's true that the lighting is very low to provide ambiance; all servers carry flashlights if you need one and are very knowledgeable about the menu. Some of the dishes are overpriced, but they have great specials. The lamb here is exceptional.
(4)Angela M.
I love Greek food. There's a place in Calgary that serves the most amazing kleftiko. There's a place in Kamloops, B.C., that has the most incredible platters, heaped with lemon potatoes, veggies, pita, souvlaki ... yada yada yada. I read the reviews about the White House Grill. I have been taken there twice now by My American. And it's OK. Yes, just OK. I'm incredibly sorry. I know this place is worshipped by many near and far. I fear for my safety in the area if I don't give it five stars (not really, just kidding). I love garlic. And yeah, if you're looking for garlic, the White House is the place to go. But I love lamb. And twice now, my lamb has been a little bit dry, a little bit overdone. I can get past that as I hoe through the mounds of buttery rice. I can't, however, get past the tremendously horrible service we got last night. First, we sat at our table for almost 15 minutes before we were asked for our drink order. We had actually started wondering if we had been forgotten, even though the rest of the patio was full and was getting service. We were all set to order everything by the time the server showed up. Once we got to the entrees, she decided to start writing everything down. The salads came first. Not the drinks. In fact, someone-not-our-server brought My American his beer and asked our table 'what kind of wine did you order? we forgot.' But I was in the can at the time and then had to wait even longer for my Jean Bousquet malbec. Then our entrees showed. Wait a damn second ... what the heck ever happened to our pita and hummus? Oooh, whoopsie, our server forgot to put the order in. She brought it to us as a side for our meal and told us she wouldn't charge us for it. Smart move, No. 1. Smart move, No. 2? Free baklava to go with an apology and a 'gee, thanks for putting up with me.' Now maybe I'm a bit of a hardass and she apologized and gave us free stuff but, honestly, how many times can you screw one table over?
(3)Tony D.
If I was ever falsely accused of a crime heinous enough to put me on death row, my last meal would be this: Hummus appetizer, gyro with pasta salad, glass of red wine. Actually, make that a bottle of red wine. And then I'd order a side of pasta salad to go. The warden would say no, but I'd try anyhow. To date, the White House Grill is my favorite restaurant of all time. I've been half way around the world. I've eaten at posh restaurants with foie gras on the kids menu (ick). But I still prefer the garlic-drenched, greek-techno-music-blasted, glass-table-topped gem that sits right off the Post Falls exit. And a great item to note is that they offer a grilled cheese sandwich and seasoned fries for two bucks. So taking your kids to this place is actually cheaper than taking them to McD's on the way home (because if your kid is like mine, he won't be brave enough to eat any garlic-infused delicacies). You like garlic? They like you. Done deal.
(5)Andi N.
Every year, as I make my trek back home to visit with the Fam, I have visions of Sea bass and their amazing rice dancing in my head. I dream about this place all year long and SO wish I could find something comparable in Southern California, where I now reside. Loud atmosphere, but also romantic. Friendly staff. I believe they have a martini joint a block down the street as well.
(5)John C.
This place has so much potential in a place that's starving for culture and diverse food options, the White House reallly droped the ball when it came to over all customer service and hospitality. After being seated for 15 minutes we were finally offered a drink order. 15 minutes later our drinks arrived with our appetizer. Which I only ordered because it was recommended by a fellow yelp review. The deep fried feta was just ok... if you like a hunk of fried cheese on a bed of hand ripped up iceberg lettuce with some vinegar doused tomatoes and cucumbers. Normally this is where I would cash out and leave, but my mojito was delicious so I held on to hope. Thankfully I did because only an hour after being seated, my course arrived and it was delicious. I would say the best Chilean sea bass I've ever had, and the chicken curry raviolis were to die for. Overall: great entrees, mediocre appetizers, crappy front of house.
(3)Kerry S.
In town from Denver for a conference and this place was recommended by a local. Whoever that local was... GOOD BLESS YOU! Incredible food, wonderful atmosphere, and Raci is an absolutely gracious and wonderful host! The specially made wine goes perfect with the food, and the Fried Feta is a must!
(5)travis k.
wish I didnt live 2000 miles away. I miss you Turkish platter
(5)Benda H.
Every single taste from appetizer to dessert was outstanding. Delicious food, roomy romantic atmosphere and a waitress that can't be beat. Thank you Kathy ;) you made our night. Wishing we had a White House Grill in California, I would be there every week!
(5)CJ A.
Hey if you don't like garlic... Drink more wine!!! Vast array of wines complement the menu!
(4)Christine S.
MMMMM! Went here about a month ago, and the garlic permeating the air was an indication of what I was craving and expecting. Had the Firinda Sarmisak as an appetizer, which is a roasted garlic and walnut spread sprinkled with parmesan, served in a ramekin straight from the oven. it doesn't taste like there's nuts in it, but rather white beans. It's the best thing on the menu, imo. For the main course I had the Büftek. Flat iron steak perfectly seasoned with garlic and olive oil with a side of garlic smothered fried potatoes (slightly spicy, btw) and garlic green beans, which were very fresh and cooked al dente. If you don't like garlic, don't come here! I mean, seriously, what do you expect? Most people know this place specializes in garlic for the garlic lover. Excellent customer service also. Didn't have to wait long for our food or for refills on our water.
(5)Anora K.
Oh the food and wine selection are awesome. This isn't really greek food, it is like a fusion place. The French onion soup is amazing... like AMAZING and it is 3.50!! This place smells pretty strong of garlic and they use it liberally, so don't come near it if that isn't your thing. This place is dark, kind of romantic and fun. The service is a little silly sometimes on busy nights so don't go in a hurry.
(4)Tom F.
The White House before moving to the current location (used to be a bank building) was just down the road where the Oval Office is now located (same owners). Many workday lunches were enjoyed there, primarily the gyros. The crowds and long waits for a table testified to the great food, pricing, and popularity of the place. And then they moved ........... and added more garlic, a lounge, bigger crowds and more room to seat them but it is still a pretty compacted seating arrangement at some tables, especially for groups. The fireplace area next to the lounge is nice and has an opporunity to provide intimacy for those wanting a more romantic evening without having the kids along. Only complaint is the same as many, tone down the garlic and let other flavors have a chance to be noticed!
(3)erik b.
Excellent food, atmosphere and service. Wait times can be long and waiting area is small. Just head off the the bar until your table is ready. Reasonably priced drinks, reasonably priced food and Delicious. Not for the garlic timid. If you can't take a full on garlic assault on all your senses, you'd best move on to something more tame. Not the best choice for a first date or if you are planning to go out to meet people, as the overpowering garlic breath is tough to tame even hours after the meal is complete.... but well worth it.
(5)Nick M.
Incredible food that wreaks of garlic? Yes, please! I LOVE the White House. This Mediterranean restaurant is great because you have a wide variety of food and drink choices. And, while you've heard rumors that you will be sweating garlic for hours after, I can assure you that it is completely TRUE. Embrace it. The perfect meal: Start with the Turkish Cigars. The fresh spinach perfectly compliments the heavy feta. I would also recommend the deep-fried feta, but I try to stay away from fried foods (ha!). The tabouleh wraps are also a nice little starter, and you can share with your lover while you discuss how strong the garlic odor is and try to make out what the menu says in the dimly lit room. For the entree, you will be happy with a sandwich or an entree. It truly doesn't matter because both offer a great selection. From the sandwiches, the Chicken Athens is particularly tasty. And for a meal, I truly enjoy the Chicken Rome. The marinara is spiced just right, and the green beans are a nice, fresh touch. Now, the White House is five star worthy, but I never lived in Post Falls, so the location was a little hard to cope with (probably good for my friends because they'd be smelling garlic ALL the time if it was any closer). The wait can be trying, but if you have a thirty or forty minute stay awaiting you, walk over to the "Oval Office," the owner's other establishment. It is a great place to get a gin bath before venturing back to Garlic World. After your meal is complete, make a drive to Coeur d'Alene and walk around the floating dock with your lover. It's quite romantic. I hear they are opening a White House in Spokane...of course this doesn't happen until after I move away. Sad emoticon for sure.

Folks in the know with this restaurant will tell you to try one of their specials- preferably the Mixed Grill (Chilean Sea Bass & Curry Chicken with green beans and rice) which has got to be THE BEST thing on their menu (hands down). I've gotten many many friends and family to try it and they have not been disappointed. My husband and I have been going to The White House Grill since the time they were in their original location and had a wait time of 2 hours (if you dared come without a reservation). These days, the location is bigger, and the wait isn't as long- although reservations on a weekend are highly recommended unless you don't mind eating well past the usual dinner hours. Raji, the owner, is frequently seen singing and clapping his hands to the beat of his music, while simultaneously cooking from his open-faced kitchen area. He is also known to play drums and serenade those there for a birthday. Yes, the food is extremely garlicky for the regular person, but it's not something you'll regret unless of course you've got big plans involving other people who haven't been dining with you. Besides the Mixed Grill, their hummus & eggplant spreads are a family fave, as are the turkish cigars- we can't do without either one when we go. This is an excellent restaurant overall and I highly recommend it.
(5)Kiira B.
I knew to expect garlicy (and I am a garlic lover) but White House didn't live up to all the hype. The food was either so garlicy that it burned my mouth (pasta salad) or so bland (souvlaki) that it couldn't stand up to all the other flavors on my plate. The other people I was with enjoyed their meal, but I was nonplussed with mine. Also, what others have said is true - make sure to have a reservation and then still be prepared to wait.
(3)Merwin S.
I used to LOVE the White House Grill, but then the West Wing opened, Raci left, the garlic is almost non-existent (can't even smell it when I'm parked at the red light), the green beans are raw and the lucious brown sauce all but a drizzle... NOT my favorite anymore soooo sad to say. Haven't been there in a year... But, these reviews KILL me when they complain about the GARLIC!!!! It's like complaining that KFC serves too much chicken or that McDonald's serves nothing but burgers. REALLY???? Don't like garlic?? Don't stop at the White House! And, if you do, there's NO ONE to blame but yourself. Sheesh!
(4)Brandon M.
Total fan of this place. Always a fun outing when we go. Simple Gyro or the Lamb Medium Rare is awesome. Great martini's wife loves the isabella. Great place, we go often.
(5)Alonda L.
if you like turkish food, this is the place to go!!! if you want to try turkish food... this is the place to go!!!! they have amazing food here.... i love their lamb kabobs and they give you an enormous amount of food the the price you pay. you definitely get more than what you paid for. their service is excellent and the setting has elegance for a casual restaurant. lets put it this way... i am currently over in the middle east and the middle east has nothing on the white house. thank you for such a wonderful experience several times... hope to join and see you again!!!!
(5)Tinna H.
Garlicky! That is how your mouth will leave this Mediterranean restaurant as you walk off into the moonlight. And the smell will linger in your clothes and hair too... As you walk in, you find yourself right next to the kitchen. So you can watch all the magic happen as you wait for a seat. When my coworker asked about how long the wait would be, she was told "20 minutes." 5 minutes in, we were seated. We were totally expecting to have to wait, and were pleasantly surprised... But you know, if we didn't have those 20 minutes to wait, we might have left and gone somewhere else! After sitting down, the neighboring table offered us a flashlight to read the menus. Yea, it's that dark inside... The food was delicious. Loved all the flavoring, especially on the rice. I'm a big fan of the garlic, and so this was my kind of restaurant. Portions are filling for excellent prices. I ordered the special, which was sea bass, curry chicken kebab, and shrimp kebab over their flavorful rice with garlic green beans. The green beans aren't the best I've had, but they were definitely garlicky and hard not to finish... I like my garlic veggies! The sea bass was super, but when is sea bass not super? My coworkers ordered lamb kebabs, and then the Turkish special, which is lamb over eggplant and rice... Didn't hear any complaints. Of the group, I got through most of my plate. Guess I was hungry and craving for some good food. Apparently, there is a belly dancer on Thursday nights. But in general, the atmosphere is lively. There's music playing in the background, and on occasion, you'll hear the chef singing along or making up his own songs. Cool place. Check it out if you're nearby [Coeur d'Alene or Spokane]. They also have another restaurant called the Oval Office. ;)

We went to the White House for Valentine's dinner after every other place called was full up. I guess that should have said something about the place. The food was good, but the menu was tiny. Fried feta was an experience, and although it was good I don't think I'd order it again unless I had a half-dozen people to share it with. I had the caesar salad and bf the greek, and both were very good and garlicky. For entrees I had the Rosalina, which was good but messy. The prawns really should be de-tailed before going in the dish, because you have to pick them out and pull off the tails with your hands, and they're in red sauce. Messy. Bf had a lamb dish with fettucine type noodles, and he was underwhelmed. My biggest complaint about this place is the shitty tables and chairs. If it weren't for the greek decor I would have felt like I was in a food court. My legs stuck to the plastic seat of the chair. It was like they were confused about whether to go all the way upscale or be cheap. Add to that the greek techno that was played way too loudly and this place needs some serious overhaul. The food was good. The service was decent, although the floor plan needs to be rethought. I won't be back because if I am paying $15/entree on average I don't need to have my ears assaulted by techno and the screams of drunks.

First of all, yes you must love garlic. Second of all, thats not the only taste you'll get! My MIL (mother in law) asked us if we loved garlic and we said yes, so she took us to The White House Grill. Frickin fabulous!!! We get inside, no where really to wait as the kitchen is directly left of the main doors. The place was pretty busy too so it took a few minutes to be seated. Once we sat our server came by and quickly brought us drinks. I had the salmon ala foreigner, MIL had the kuzu markama and the husband had the turkish plate. The salmon ala foreigner was a special but it was absolutely amazing!!! It was salmon with a thick creamy saucy with sun dried tomatos and capers, just perfect. The rice was good, not over or undercooked and the green beans were cooked well with a unique chunky seasoning. Not a strong garlic taste on the fish or rice, but yes the green beans. The kuzu makarna was a pasta with lamb and actually was very flavorful, kinda garlicy, but not overpowering. The turkish plate, is a pass. With all the other tasty dishes, this could easily be surpassed by many others. Not a strong garlic taste. We also had the deep fried feta, sooo good. No garlic taste. And the shepard salad, it took me by surprise but was pretty good. No garlic taste. Place is kinda loud but tolerable. Prices are very fair!! My special, which I would've easily paid $25 for was only $16. For one drink, one appetizer, a salad and three entrees, it was only $61!! In Cali (where we live) that is a $90 meal for the flavor and quantity. The servers have nine table sections and the wait looked pretty long so don't go in on a Friday night at dinner and expect to be seated right away. Quality of food. 5 stars Quantity of food. 5 stars Prices. 5 stars Service (on a busy night with a large server section). 4 stars Atmosphere (just a bit too loud). 4.5 stars Parking. 5 stars Overall, amazing, amazing, amazing. I would eat there often if I lived in the area.

This is the best restaurant that I've ever ate at that had hanging beads you had to pass through to get to the front door! Those with alliumphobia need to stay far away from this place, no kidding. Definitely not a place to go for a first date, but one if you love garlic! Because of the popularity of this place, we decided to go after the lunch rush. The food was amazing...except for the garlic green beans. Here is the part of the meal that deserves the "OG" over garlic that has plagued the reviews of this excellent restaurant. Otherwise the Turkish Cigars, spinach salad, and Turkish plate had great flavor and just the right amount of garlic.

I'm giving this 4 stars because I've had great food and we usually go when I visit my friend in Post Falls. Last time I ordered something I didn't love so I need to go back and get the mojo back. in post falls this is it, so far.

In a word: phenomenal. Fabulous, aromatic food and a great atmosphere as well. Highly recommended.

The next time you find yourself in North Idaho, take the time to stop in Post Falls for lunch or dinner at the White House. While the restaurant is not as cozy in their new Denny's style restaurant as it was in the hold little white house, the mediteranean food remains garlicky and outstanding.

My step-mom brought me here for lunch because it's one of her favorite places to eat as well as my father (who was very jealous we went without him). First impressions are everything in my opinion. When we walked in we were greeted nicely by the cooks and the waitress that ended up waiting on us I asked for another glass because mine looked dirty and she replaced it with another one that looked the same and promised me it was clean it's just been used a lot. The silverware was also a little hard to tell if clean or "just used a lot" I have so say I was a little nervous to try the food. We ordered the fried goat cheese which was very good and I ordered the chicken parmesan with penne pasta which was also good and a very big serving. My plate was chipped.. so also just used a lot... For a restaurant with such great food and so many good reviews and customers like my parents that will continue coming back they should have enough in their budget to replace the scratched glasses, chipped plates, and crappy silverware. Also our waitress had a hickey on her neck and hair long enough to put down, seriously? That was pretty disgusting.

This is probably our favorite restaurant in N. Idaho. Be warned the White House's motto is "If you Love Garlic, we Love You" and they live up to it. You can smell the White House from miles away. But, if you love garlic then this place is awesome. The humus is great, the plate is half humus and half egg plant. Sometimes the humus has a bit too much garlic and is a bit too strong. The Sandwiches are great and if you are in the mood for a quick eat that is cheap check them out. The curry chicken is my favorite but all of them are good. The main meals are good but in the $$ range. The shrimp skewer is good, but a bit skimpy on the shrimp. The mixed grill is a heaping plate of Lamb and is delicious. If the seabass is on the special it is like butter! Worth trying, though god knows what they did to get it to taste that good! This is the place that all my friends want to come back and visit when they are in town.

I LOVE this place! I've been a few times and it has been consistently AMAZING! From the moment you walk in, you can smell the garlic and hear the greek music playing. AWESOME kebabs and FANTASTIC baklava! Definitelt in my top 10 restaurants of all time!

Garlic is correct. I was covered in it! The staff was fantastic and the food was tasty. This was my second time and I left once more feeling stuff and very pleased with my meal.

My husband and I stopped by for lunch one day with the caveat: you better love garlic. And love garlic we do. The food was tasty and the service alright. I had the special of the day and savored every last bite. If the menu had cheap prices, I'd be all over this place. It doesn't however. The salad & bread were extra. What restaurant charges for bread?! (Not to mention I'm pretty sure the bread was just leftover hot dog rolls smeared with butter & garlic.) We'll be back someday, but we won't be ordering the bread!

Garlicky Goodness! I enjoy flavorfull, spicy food. My experience there was pleasant. We had reservations, but still had to wait for almost 40 minutes! That's what we get for going on a Saturday! Anyways, while we were there, I saw the kitchen, the staff was super clean and knew how to handle the food. (Big plus in my book) I don't know why one of the posters called the food, "garlicky slop", maybe because of having spent a little too much time on a hog farm where the real slop is.... but I went there shortly after returning from Greece and Italy, and I found the food to taste authentic, delicious, well-prepared and yes, wait for it..... GARLICKY!. lol The phyllo cigars stuffed with feta and spinach were flaky and buttery without being greasy and smelling overwhelmingly of goat... the feta was fresh and aromatic without smelling like a sweaty goat. If you have a vivid imagination: you're welcome, I just saved you a meal.... lol Goats or not, that's where feta comes from people, so deal with it! lol (I'm in a fiesty mood) Back to my story: even the bar was full, so we had to sit near the entrance with a very pudgy older lady who kept adjusting her rolls to lay on my husband's thighs, he did not welcome her attentions, but it kept me entertained! lol The place was kind of dark, there were flashlights on the tables to read the menus which were kept under glass tops atop the tables. I'm not sure how I feel about that. It wasn't horrible, but didn't leave me in awe either... I enjoyed the spicy Seafood Diablo with Garlicky Green Beans, yummy. Scallops and prawns atop a bed of buttery linguine with white wine sauce and plenty of red pepper flakes, mushrooms and onion. Shepard salad, hands down, the best Greek salad I've ever had, even in Greece. He had the lamb mixed grill with rice and shrimp scewers. Fantastic. We shared a bottle of a crisp riesling (I don't remember which, but it had kiwi and apple top notes. Quite nice) Their baklava wasn't too special, the phyllo hadn't absorbed all the honey yet, the pistacios tasted a little stale, but it was obvious they ran out of the good stuff and made this in a hurry, so I'm not judging too severely. I will be back! If you have a chance, go! Just be sure to kiss your sweetie before. Lots. After, you will both be unbuttoning your pants and panting from overeating, marveling how one person can eat so much garlic and enjoy it! lol I said "overeating", but it doesn't leave you with a disguested feeling, the seafood was actually quite light, so go. Enjoy yourself!

Garlic and then some. Overused and just plain bad. We love garlic but this is ridiculous. I just can't imagine anybody wanting their food to taste like this.
(1)Rick C.
You definetly don't want to kiss anyone after eating at the White House, unless of course if the person you going to kiss is eating the food as well!! You can smell the garlic from the street...wonderful! The staff is very friendly and entertaining. Go there on a Thursday night. They have a belly dancer who is a hoot!! The food is great!! It was my second time at the White House and I'll be back many more times!

I think the words from the 8 year that was dining with our group is telling - he called his meal "garlicky slop on a plate". Service was the highlight of our visit, The food was the downfall. First off the bread they severed was over-proofed and tasteless. We ordered two appetizers which were both very greasy, one in fact had a steady stream of grease that poured out of it - yuck. The pasta we were served was horribly overcooked and falling to pieces. A chicken breast was cooked to death, making it the toughest and driest piece of chicken I have ever seen served in a restaurant, just trying to "saw" it into pieces posed a challenge. The lamb itself was very dry but they tried to cover that up with a layer of grease on top, not appetizing at all. The Gyro consisted of very cheap frozen commercially prepared meat (barf) and it was not very good. Talking about commercially prepared, just they also use the cheapest frozen tortellini you can buy. The so-called sauces served with the pasta and another plate looked much more like a thick pudding, we actually added milk to a child's fettuccine Alfredo to make the paste into a sauce. And yes everything was coated with lots and lots of garlic, so I guess if you want to eat garlic everything this place might do it for you, as for me I like a little more nuance and flavor with my garlic chicken jerky and Alfredo paste. Without trying to be too rude my comment to my wife was the dinners were like "Hungry-man meals gone horribly wrong." To top of the disgusting food we were served which not a single person (out of eight) finished their meal and we all refused to-go boxes, there was overly loud techno music playing that we had to shout over was not very conducive to a dining atmosphere. I know I am bucking the trend here, the place was busy so obviously this type of food appeals to some people. Maybe it's the price or the fact that there aren't really any decent Greek Mediterranean restaurants up here so people don't really know the food but after what we were served we really couldn't understand why anyone would eat here again. I have many times, thought about going back, to give it another chance, maybe, just maybe, they stars aligned and we got the worst 8 dinners they have put out of their kitchen but to be honest I just don't have that much credulity.

Good food, the hummus and eggplant garlic dip was incredible; the Greek salad was very flavorful, but the spinach salad was overdressed. We had the mixed grill and everything was cooked to perfection. I could have done with out the loud music and better service. If I lived here I would definitely go back to try again.

The best of the best! The White House Grill is a local favorite as well as a destination location for chefs and foodies from out of town. The garlic heavy menu is prepared each night by a skilled kitchen crew and presented with care by a well versed staff. Try everything on the menu and be sure to save room for baklava for dessert.

The food is mediocre. It doesn't really even read Greek or Mediteranean to me...or garlic-y. They love to say how much garlic they use...I don't think I've tasted any in any of the food. Except the pasta salad-which was NASTY. Kinda luke-ish warm...the seasoning in it was gross. The sandwich thing I had was okay. The Tzatziki sauce was good with the sometimes-warm pitas. The tiramisu wasn't tiramisu(if you're supposed to be representing that area of food culture...you should know what a tiramisu is). However, it's the service that kills it for me. We arrived at 7:30 on a Friday night. STARVED. There was a line(and yes, parking is a nut job here), but we were told only half an hour, maybe 45 minutes. All of a sudden there were lots of other people waltzing right in with reservations. We looked in the windows and there were MANY open seats. We asked the waitress, and she said all of them were reserved. We were also told the nobody else gets in until the reservations are through. But naturally, were assured, AGAIN, only 45 minutes. We had already waited atleast half an hour. We waited, and waited. AND waited. 45 minutes goes by, and...nothing. our line had barely moved(so no, we weren't the only ones in this position). Everyone was talking with the waitresses(who were also giggling and ignoring the crowd of angry people who had been promise almost 2 hours before that they would be seating in less than 1). We heard a guy behind us talking on his cell phone-to the restaurant. He had gotten in right behind us, 2 hours earlier, and he decided to see what this "reservations first" crap was. He made a reservation for about 30 minutes later. and 30 minutes later he strolled right up and got a table!!!! Many people in line left and went to get McDonald's. The rest of us complained profusely, and after much arguing, many of us were seated in the next 45 minutes. In total, it took my sister about 2 and a half hours to get into this place. The wait staff was terrible and the food was not worth that long of a wait. EVER. It was unacceptable to lie to customers like that, and I hope after all the negative comments they got, the staff would have been retrained and this whole "reservations first" bull was eliminated.

We love this restaurant! 4 of us were on a bike ride today and we stopped in for a late lunch, since we had tried to go to Bardenay in CdA and had such crappy service we left! So we biked to The White House and had a delicious lunch and awesome service! We have been here many times and will continue to come back over and over!
(5)Allison D.
If you're planning on smooching someone later who has not also eaten at the White House, eating here is probably a poor choice. But if not, this is some delicious food and prices are totally reasonable. Be sure to pay attention to the specials- I almost always order off of the specials list because they have some incredible choices. Also, if you order a sandwich go with "half and half" for your side and get the best of both worlds with the pasta salad (warning: extremely garlicky) and fries.

you can smell the garlic as soon as you exit the freeway. the food here is awesome! i've been here a number of times and i must say the best fettucine i've ever had...the waitress had great recommendations for wine and food, so we went with them all. last time, i tried the lamb/eggplant dish and was i ever so happy. it's a very fun atmosphere. i wouldn't consider it romantic for the mere fact that garlic is oozing out your pores for the next 5 days. no matter how in love you are, making out and sweating garlic is not hot. i GUARANTEE you will hear the question: "who smells like garlic?" either directed at you or around you. whether you live here, you're on a visit the spokane/cd'A area or you're just passing through, i highly recommend stopping by.

Yummy! Mixed grill is always a good choice

Garlic Garlic Garlic! Did I mention Garlic? Garlic is the word and it's in every dish in large amounts. I LOVE the deep fried feta, Turkish cigars, garlic bread, chicken Rome, curry ravioli, and oh the green beans!!!!!! There isn't a dish here that I don't like that I have tried. The service is always prompt and pleasant the food is always hot and amazing. The belly dancing is fun and it's always nice to talk to Raci when he comes around. Don't forget to try the baclava! The wait maybe long if it's busy go during lunch for faster service.

Garlic. There is as much garlic in your dish as there is in every Yelp review for this place. If you're not a fan, I recommend saving yourself the money and grief and 2 days of exhaling garlic and going elsewhere instead. And stop reading now. HOWEVER, if you love all things garlic and generous portions with fantastic seasoning then this place is a must-try. We stumbled across this place passing through Post Falls on a cross-country road trip. After munching on chips and craisins all day, we were desperate for protein fuel. Seeing as there aren't too many options around the area, we had little trouble deciding to come here. I recommend the Turkish Plate if you love lamb and eggplants. And garlic. And the Mixed Grill if you fancy sampling. Portions were generous enough to feed me for two meals. Also their green beans are SO GOOD. If you're a local, you must've already experienced the garlic goodness. If you're just visiting, trust your olfactory cues and come here. Did I mention there's a lot of garlic?

I've been to Greece multiple times, grew up with a friend that has a Greek restaurant, but I've never had food like this before. They seem to think adding an unusually large amount of garlic to everything is the secret to a good dish. We started with a hummus plate and it was chunky/ thick and filled with garlic instead of being creamy. Not to our liking... Then we watched as table after table was served before us even though they ordered after us. Took an extremely long time to get our food on a slow night. Still might be the best Mediterranean restaurant in Post Falls.

We decided to try something new and preferably a restaurant outside city limits. This was a great choice and I am definitely going back! The positives: - The food is amazing! - Interesting location with a peculiar décor The bad: - The waiting time was longer than I would have liked - Getting water took longer than normal At the end of the day, the wait is well worth it. They have many entrees I have never seen anywhere else ranging from unique salmon and beef dishes to mouth-watering chicken dishes. If you're near the area, I highly recommend trying this out.
(4)Yelena M.
You gotta LOVE garlic to come here because dishes are soaking in garlic and you will have aftertaste of garlic for a while! That being said, the place has full bar and nice bar area. The service was very attentive by manager/owner? And the food was excellent! Prices are fair for the quality and freshness. We ordered the hummus eggplant appetizer that was served with warm pita bread. Delicious and garlicky! For main course, we had the gyro with side of pasta salad and the lamb special sandvic with French fries. Both were very good and flavorful! Great place for a date and groups!
